My artwork shows a teenage girls’ connection to a show she watches, namely One Tree Hill, she is connected to. The teenage girl is portrayed as the girl who in writing the chalk drawing, in my photo, and the characters are the people surrounding her, looking down at her. Her comfort in a specific female character, who is touching her shoulder in the photo, is someone she looks up to and tries to look at her because she wants to find that peace in herself rather than other people. As she is drawing, she visualizes the characters coming to her to comfort her as she is upset. I wanted to create a piece where it would be evident of a teenage girl's delusions in order for her to find the comfort that is not provided in her reality. Also, the female character is holding a fresh daisy and comforting the teenage girl, while the flowers on the floor are painted black. This symbolizes a fresh start and a sign for the teenage girl to feel better as these characters are cheering up in her mind. The other characters are holding beach and basketball balls because it evokes their personality as comforting and also want to cheer up the solemn teenage girl.
