My artwork explores the concept of identity and the search for solace within fictional personas. The piece captures a teenage girl in the process of painting the likeness of "Ghostface" over her own reflection, suggesting a deep sense of comfort found in the character. I applied the paint to the mirror with thick, heavy textures to represent the model’s intense inner emotions as she chooses to obscure her true self in favor of this external identity. By leaving a portion of her natural reflection visible on the right side of the frame, the piece illustrates a gradual transformation. This visual choice highlights the transition of the model slowly allowing her own features to fade so that the character can fully blossom as her new reflection.
